Sometimes I think we must be related! LOL. My husband and I have decided that after our freezer is cleaned out we are going to be getting some grassfed beef and/pork. I am looking into making some major changes in our diets and also want to start buying more locally grown food.

I just joined a Yahoo group of local farmers, homesteaders as well as consumers. Here people put up what they have to offer such as pasture fed beef, rabbit meat, eggs, veggies etc. I have made some great connections there already.

We bought 1/4 of a cow a few years ago and it was fantastic! I am saving up to do it again this summer.

I found ours on localharvest.org, but eatwild.com is another good source for finding local farmers and ranchers.

Great idea! My husband and I are going to buy 1/2 a cow from a friend in Alabama who raises grass-fed beef cattle. I can't wait! We're going to use some of our money from our tax return too. It's a great use of money.
