Well, I was doing so well. And then I was hit with school project needs and the scout father/son cake bake yesterday morning. Suddenly I was heading to Wal-Mart. $89 and a few groceries later I walked out. Ugh! I swear I only bought produce and things we were out of like milk, yogurt and lunchmeat (besides the school and scout items). And when I have to pack 4 lunches a day I have to have lunch options. Anyway, I could have held out a little longer, but why make an extra trip? I hate Wal-Mart so go as little as possible and I wasn’t going to go back.
Tomorrow I have to go get Emma’s specialty foods and hit Costco for items we can’t do with out like lemon juice, oil, sugar, etc. I need to sit down tonight and make a good list and stick to it! Whatever I get there will last weeks-months though and unfortunately we cook so much from scratch that I can’t go long without them. I am hoping that what is normally a $200 trip will be much less than $100 this month.

Hi, just a question…what do you use lemon juice for? I always have lemons on hand but they go bad before I can think of something to do with them
Coleen
I mainly use lemon juice in my iced tea. I make a pitcher every 2 days – it is almost the only caffeine I drink. As for fresh lemons – I always have those on hand too – I squeeze 1/2 a lemon into a glass of water every day. Yum!
I hear you on the hate walmart thing, but I do miss costco. We only have sams around here, and I don’t like that store either.
Good luck on your shopping trip.
Thanks, Jennifer!
