I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane – I Mean Charter Bus

by Jennifer on December 7, 2012

I don’t go out of town much but this weekend I will be heading to Indianapolis with Emma’s gymnastics team for a bus trip – I will be a Momerone as the coaches call them.  Other moms keep coming up to me and saying that it will be fun and I am not sure if fun is really the right word.  But I do hope it is fun.  It will be interesting to say the least.  I don’t see anyone getting much sleep.  The schedule as it stands right now only allows for 8-9 hours at the hotel each night.  45 tween/teen girls split amongst us means I doubt anyone will be sleeping much.

I like kids so that will help.  The coaches seem nice enough and I will certainly be getting to know them.  I will miss home though and the other kids.  I like to travel but I prefer to do it with my whole family.  I know I am making special memories with Emma and that is good, but I will miss the others.

I will keep telling myself that it will be fun – but it will probably take me all of next week to recover.  I am not sure what I was thinking when I signed up for this!

You’ll have fun!

In 2009, I chaperoned 2 busloads of high schoolers on a trip from St. Louis to Washington DC. I had so much fun that I signed up to do it again in March!
