Winter can come now - and leave as quickly as possible

The leaves are mostly raked.
The garlic is planted.
The wood is chopped.
We got our last hike in of the year. Winter can start now. I just hope it is a quick one. I am already ready for spring. To help us deal with cold weather and illness (hello Swine Flu) I have a menu of comfort foods planned.

Monday - homemade chicken noodle soup with focaccia bread

Tuesday - leftovers

Wednesday - pizza, carrots, applesauce

Thursday - meatloaf, crash potatoes and green beans

Friday - spaghetti, corn on the cob

Saturday - some sort of chicken

Abby, yes we eat the garlic. We will harvest it in July.

Kathy, I'm so sorry you are so sick! I guess the pneumonia is the most common complication of swine flu. I am watching him closely and doing everything I can, but is there really a way to prevent it from turning into pneumonia? Not that I know of. Rest up and take care of yourself! YOu will be in my prayers.

Homemade chicken noodles were on my menu last week. Definitely a comfort food and one of my favorites this time of the year!
