Have you thought about Christmas yet?

I have. I have thought and thought and thought about it. But have I done anything about it yet? Not really. I have a small handful of gifts bought, but I would say 80% of what I have to do is still left to do. Fortunately we save money all year to pay for Christmas. No credit cards for us. No bills to worry about in January. I hate worrying about bills.

I was supposed to hit some stores this week and see if I could come up with some ideas, maybe actually buy some gifts. But I have been home bound with sick kids, so I have just been doing more thinking. Fortunately I talked to my mom and she has finished buying for my kids. And she got 2 of them things we were planning on getting them. Which is fine, but now I have to think of something else LOL, which isn't fine, because I had a hard time coming up with the other ideas.

I am a planner by nature, so thinking things through really helps, but I am ready to take action and I can't right now. I NEED to get out of this house. But that won't happen until at least tomorrow, so I am going to take advantage of a sick kid one more time. Luke doesn't normally sit still for long enough to snuggle, but boy is he being sweet today. He is feeling a bit better and I thought the fever was gone. But it came back after lunch and he just wants to lay around. Now is my chance! Of course I will probably get sick, but they grow up so fast and I don't want to miss it. I can think some more while I snuggle.

How is everyone else doing on their holiday shopping?

I started early this year with making alot of gifts. I'm about 90% finished with the shopping and sewing. I have a few things left to get for my hubby and then I'm finished. I still have to bake, wrap everything and write the cards but I feel pretty good about it.

I think you should get Emma another american girl doll. She seemed to really like the one you got her for her b-day!

Not want you want to hear, lol, but I only have one more gift to buy for one of my kids; I'm done with the gifts for my other 4. :-) I still have maybe 6 misc. gifts to buy but the hardest ones are done!

I started buying for Christmas a couple of weeks ago. We realized today that we have just four more pay days left until then. Unfortunately, we have not been able to save for gifts this year so we'll just be buying what we can.

It helps that we only have one child and that he guessed Santa's identity earlier this year! He knows that he will only be getting a stocking from Santa and the rest of his gifts will be wrapped from us. We've also explained that Christmas will be modest this year.

He's into Star Wars Clone Wars so that's the basic theme of all his toys. He's also getting a cd player, some cd's, books, and movies.

We have two nieces to buy gifts for but everyone else is getting some kind of baked goodies.

I am making ALL friends and family gifts or using gifts from my 'gift closet'. The only 2 I really have to shop for will be my 2 children (22 and 17). My 17 yo daughter REALLY wants an Ipod. Over the budget I usually spend (each child is limited to between $100-150). However, her bday is Dec 7th so I may get her something SMALL then and add to Christmas. But that means she only gets ONE gift. I've already started making gifts and have other ideas to work on. Most of the supplies I have on hand. Or am using recycled items (glass jar candles, posted about on my blog)

You must have been reading my mind!LOL I started REALLY thinking about Christmas yesterday. I barely have anything. I would love to go out and get my shopping done, but I just don't know what to get everybody(my kids included).

Like you though, I've budgeted for Christmas all year so at least I don't have to worry about credit card bills in January:)

I have about 30% done and am so dissapointed it's not more! I have found that, for me, it makes sense to shop year round. I can be selective and spend less that way

Most of our gifts for others are bought, our son is getting so hard to buy for. Were traveling for him to play football, which is costing $500 or more, so he knows xmas wont be a whole lot, but with the deals I have been finding it will be.

I have bought a few things here and there, but I'm just starting to get my ideas together as well. We also save all year for Christmas - such a great gift to yourself (not worrying about bills in January!).
