This weeks Giant Eagle ad for NE Ohio looks pretty good! Eggs are $.98 a dozen, which makes me crave breakfast for dinner. Here is a very yummy way to do scrambled eggs and toast.
Ingredients
1 dozen eggs $.98
1/2 pound Jimmy Dean Sausage $1.50
1/2 loaf of bread for toast - $.49
Brown the sausage in a large saute pan until cooked through, crumbling as you go. While this is cooking crack and whisk your eggs. When the sausage is done, just pour the eggs into the pan and stir quickly to incorporate everything together and to get the eggs cooked. The sausage gives it a really nice flavor. Serve with toast. For more bargain meals, check out $5 Dinners.
Total cost for the meal is $2.97. There is plenty of room in the budget for Breyers ice cream for dessert. On sale for $2.50 each, there are $.75 coupons that came out recently. After doubling, you can get a tub of ice cream for $1.

Jennifer.....I make a meal like this for dinner too but I also add potatoes. I peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes. Fry them in one skillet and the sausage in another. When the potatoes are just done add the sausage and stir. Then put your eggs in and cook until done. It's another way to stretch the meal and you can do it with bacon or ham too.
