Kitchen day

With temperatures in the 60's and 70's the past couple of days, I decided to have a kitchen day. The picture is of my pepperoni pizza rolls. They are pretty floury since I had trouble with them sticking. I made 2 batches for the freezer. I realized while making the second batch how much I really dislike making these. Not sure why, but it is tedious and messy, so that is probably it.

I also juiced a bunch of limes, made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (snacks and freezer), made chocolate chip muffins for our breakfast, made homemade popsicles, put a quart of peaches in the freezer before they went bad and cleaned the kitchen repeatedly. It was nice to be working in the cool though and we have a few goodies in the freezer now. And now that we have had some cooler temps I am ready for the heat of summer again.

I enjoy your site - thank you for taking the time to keep us informed. I noticed today that you mentioned making chocolate chip muffins. Do you have a good recipe you would be willing to share? I have kids that love the prepackaged muffins, but I can not seem to find a good recipe for scratch muffins! Thank you! I would leave my email but I don't have any listed accounts to do so below!

I made up a huge batch of bolognese pasta sauce yesterday and put 4 dinner's worth in bags in the freezer.

Isn't it a sense of accomplishment?!

It sounds like a productive day for you! I would love to have the recipe for your pepperoni pizza rolls.

I made a batch of egg salad, homemade pasta sauce and homemade pesto this evening. Most of my cooking for the weekend is finished. By cooking ahead this evening, we will be less tempted to eat out over the holiday weekend!

It is good to see others having kitchen days too.

Erika, I do get a sense of accomplishment, it is nice.

Anonymous, I have posted the chocolate chip recipe on here before, I will find it for you.

Sara, I just use my regular recipe for pizza crust in the bread machine, and then divide it up and roll it out and fill with sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Just don't fill too full or they explode LOL.
