Saving $70 a month

We decided on a new plan for our cable, internet and phone. We are dropping the cell phones. We are switching our provider for the internet and phone. I have not been happy with our internet since we switched to them last summer. The connection is slow and it takes forever for pictures to load.

I bought a Tracphone at Walmart today with a 60 minute card. Total was under $40. This will be good for 90 days, unless we use all the minutes prior to that. I don't anticipate doing that though. We are going to start with just 1 tracphone. We only had 1 cell phone for years and would juggle who had based on need. It worked fine. Usually I take Luke to school and then come home for the rest of the day. If we are going on a field trip or something I can have the phone, but usually Kevin will have it.

We were able to get a phone plan that has unlimited long distance. Our total for cable, internet and phone will be $81.31, instead of the more than $150 a month we have been paying for those services. We are excited about this and the prospect of $70 more a month into savings. We just have so many things to save for right now between the house and cars. The only way we were ever going to meet those goals was to cut our expenses. This will definitely help.

That's a great savings! Sounds like a great deal for your cable package. I pay around $130 just for internet and cable.

I have a tracfone too. When I need to buy more minutes I do it online, and google "tracfone promotional codes"--you can almost always find codes that will give you extra minutes for free!
