I have been a parent now for 9 years. We have read lots of books, tried lots of things, made lots of mistakes and had lots of fun. There are so many different ideas, theories, and practices out there - pick a way of doing something and you could find several books on the topic easily.
Through it all though, the thing I have learned is that it doesn't matter how you parent so much, or what technique you use, but the key to whatever you use is to BE CONSISTENT. It has taken me a long time to figure that out and it is one of the hardest things to do at times. But being consistent and steady in your expectations and in your discipline and in your parenting is the best thing you can do for your child. We are on the same page. I wrote the same thing on my blog, although you were much more concise!
There's a lot of wisdom in being consistent. Let's your little ones know what to expect, too. blessings...
Most of the problems come up with my children due to inconsistency when they were younger. I am trying to work on that. Thanks for the reminder!
